2. Workout at home
The power of the internet. Nowadays, it’s super easy to find a variety of ways to workout at home. There’s so much content available out there: from YouTube videos to eBooks, articles to Instagram accounts, there’s definitely no shortage of free home workouts. Find a channel or a resource that fits your style, and try doing a workout at home.
If you prefer 1:1 training with a fitness trainer, you’ll be happy to know that there are lots of options to see a fitness trainer online. A lot of trainers and yoga teachers are now providing the option to host sessions with their clients online. Think of it as a FaceTime personal training session. Not bad, right?
3. Take care of your mental health
You can’t forget about your mental health. If you’re trying to stay healthy at home, don’t forget to do things for your mind, too. We’re all guilty of having those days where we just don’t have enough time. Not enough time to practice a self care routine for our mental health. Just not enough time to take a few minutes to journal. Definitely not enough time to stop and breathe.
So, find the time. Take that time that you normally wouldn’t have, and nurture your mental health.
Spend some time on the daily meditating, reflecting, and writing in a journal. If you’re feeling more stressed than usual, try downloading a stress management app like Calm or Headspace to help guide you. Headspace has some free programs available right now to help you weather the storm, so no upfront investment necessary.
Do things that make you happy that you haven’t been able to do in a while. Maybe that’s lighting a candle and getting cozy with a book on the couch. Or, maybe that’s taking your paintbrushes out back from when you were 16, and re-igniting that love for art that you’ve put off since life got busy. Now’s the time.
